King County Metro – Neon Art Restoration Project

King County Metro / City of Seattle Project #3

This artwork is Called “Marquees” designed by Alice Adams and Jack Mackie.
-it sat at 9th Ave & Pine St, Seattle, WA for many years.

This was my 3rd city project, I was asked if I could replace some 20 year old neon

with any type of LED product, that looked like just like neon.

A few years prior to this project I used an LED strip in a large stadium production that had lined
the front of the stage, I remember thinking that it looked very much like neon.

A few calls later I had some samples on the way from a few different places.

A few months later the project was complete

Materials:

600 feet of LED Neon Flex and 4 custom 277v input power supplies
2 colors per marquee
Colors on Pine St: Red, Pink,
Colors on 9th Ave : Green, Blue

Here is a little peek at one of the 3D models I had made to show the project to King County.
This model is sitting on a flat satellite image from the actual GPS location from Google Maps.

(Sorry, something went wrong, I fix this ASAP.)
