About

Justin (Just-N iLLusion) Gray, is a Seattle based artist.

Aside from painting, photography, music, graphic design, and over-all, just making lots of art.
Just-n also does entertainment rigging, lighting, and general A/V work, for many Seattle
Based companies, as well as a few others around Canada and the US.

Just-N  has been working in production tours, starting as a local stagehand since 2001.
His first major tour to work with, was at the Tacoma Dome. It was for Tony Hawks’
“Boom-Boom Huck Jam”, with special guests The Offspring.

And that’s what started it all.
Over the next few years, he then went on to push boxes and learn all the ways of tour
production first hand, with the likes of Aerosmith, Boston, Chicago, Kiss, Roger Waters
and many, many others.

After being invited for a west coast tour in 2003, with a big-top production called Cavalia

as the Lighting Crew Director, he got back to Seattle and set his sights on rigging and other
high-angle jobs like repelling off various buildings, to hang giant, over-sized signs.

Starting with Metallica’s “Summer Sanatorium Tour” in early 2003,

Just-N has rigged many
productions that come through the PNW, including many of the greatest legends of music.
Venues such as The Tacoma Dome, The Moore Theater, The Gorge Amphitheater and
many others, have all at one time or another, been a second home and place
to hang his hammock.

Just-N’s artwork over the years, reflects the many years
of working on stages, from small local bars and taverns as a DJ,
to being a rigger for larger shows such as,  The Rolling Stones
“Bigger Bang tour”. The amount and scale of the different productions,
trade shows, and corporate events over the years, are almost too many to name.

Now, as Just-N builds better and more advanced artwork,
he is setting his focus to lighting stages as well.
(Starting in 2024 with musical artists like Brian McKnight,
and comedian Chelsea Handler to start with.)

.
In 2025, as he builds his skills with local shows,
you’re sure to see some spectacular things in the future.
More murals, videos, songs and a few other surprises will be
revealed later this year, so make sure to check back
every now and then so you don’t miss any of these creations.

Gotta love those shows at The Gorge -Paradiso –

One of his many new projects, has been working with a
hydroplane race team. So be sure to check that page out,
as soon as I get it done. If you’re into the sport, you’ll get
some sneak-peeks into the sport and behind the scenes.
